[vc_row][vc_column][vc_message]Editor’s Note: On Saturday, December 9, 2017, Terry Sain issued the following release ending his bid to unseat Rep. Briscoe Cain:
“I want to thank everyone for the love and support they’ve shown my candidacy over the past several months.
We started this adventure with a commitment to serving our people, community, and state. Our mission is noble and real.
But, to be successful you have to get the timing right and have a little luck along the way. Between Harvey, winding down my career, properly training a replacement and family obligations, I haven’t been able to focus on building the type of campaign we can all be proud of. For someone who has spent his career, basically, making sure that all the hatches were secure before sailing, I don’t believe my candidacy is sea ready. In short, my campaign is not where I wanted it to be as we head into the holiday season. That falls on me and I am sorry to have let so many down.
For this reason, I will end my bid for the Texas legislature in 2018. However, I will do my part in rebuilding our community post-Harvey because I know a lot people are facing some hard times, and I will remain a leader for encouraging greater civic participation in order to properly invest in our schools, first responders, infrastructure needs, security and economy.
I appreciate the friendship, support, and understanding.”
-Terry Sain
